Tempo di Piazza Grande

Il Festival di Locarno è noto per proporre sempre una programmazione eclettica che unisce i nuovi arrivati ed i veterani del cinema internazionale sullo schermo nel suo enorme spazio esterno. Sembra non far eccezione il programma dell’edizione 2016, dal 3 al 13 agosto, che spazia dallo screening dell’utimo film di Ken Loach alla proiezione dell’ultimo film della serie Jason Bourne. Oltre a 16 titoli nella sezione Piazza Grande, ai 15 nella competizione internazionale e ad altri 15 nelle sezione Cineasti del Presente, l’evento svizzero renderà onore anche al talento di alcuni grandi artisti della settima arte.

Bill Pullman visiterà il festival di quest’anno per ricevere l’Excellence Award Moët & Chandon, mentre il Premio Visioni andrà ad Howard Shore, il compositore de “Il Signore degli Anelli”. David Linde il CEO di Participant Media (produttore di film come “Il Caso Sportlight”) riceverà il Premio Raimondo Rezzonico. Locarno ospiterà anche omaggi ai registi Alejandro Jodorwsky, Jonas Mekas, Roger Corman e al compianto Abbas Kiarostami. Inoltre, saranno proiettati al Festival anche sette cortometraggi prodotti nel laboratorio di cinema di Kiarostami a Cuba.

La Giuria del Concorso Cineasti del Presente includerà Dario Argento ed il direttore della fotografia Sean Price Williams, mentre la giuria del Concorso Internazionale prevede tra gli altri la presenza del regista Wang Bing.

autobiography - il ragazzo e il generale

Al cinema dal 4 Aprile

Rakib, un giovane ragazzo indonesiano, diventa assistente di Purna, ex generale del regime in pensione. Quando Purna inizia una campagna elettorale per essere eletto sindaco, Rakib si lega all’uomo, diventato per lui mentore e figura paterna. Un giorno, però, un manifesto elettorale di Purna viene trovato vandalizzato: un gesto che avrà conseguenze inimmaginabili per entrambi.
Con un ritratto intimo di due generazioni che vivono sotto lo stesso tetto, il regista Makbul Mubarak ripercorre un doloroso periodo storico della sua nazione con un thriller intenso, che presenta forti risonanze con la contemporaneità ed una forte universalità del tema della lealtà e della vicinanza al potere.

i film per non dimenticare

In occasione del Giorno della Memoria (27 gennaio) ci sembra opportuno segnalarvi una selezione di film nel nostro catalogo che sono stati fondamentali nel racconto di ciò che è successo durante gli anni della dittatura nazista: dai film di propaganda ai documentari, dalle prime opere realizzate nella Germania Est al cinema hollywoodiano, per conoscere il ruolo fondamentale della settima arte nella storia, nonché importante strumento di conoscenza. 

Nelle sezione “Guerra” sul nostro sito potrete quindi trovare capolavori come “I figli di Hitler”, un’aspra critica del regista Edward Dmytryk sull’educazione hitleriana, al vincitore del Festival di Locarno “Rotation” e il film perduto della propaganda nazista “Das Ghetto”.

Le muse impenitenti

L’associazione e compagnia teatrale le Muse Impenitenti, Marinetta Martucci e Arianna Villamaina, due attrici potentine, tornano a calcare il palcoscenico con una nuova esilarante ed originalissima commedia: Come lo zucchero per il caffè – ‘‘O Teatro è ‘o paese d’ ’o vero. Una commedia divertente e con performance di danza fuori le righe, che ci trasporta in un musical vero e proprio per poi allietare il pubblico con una sorpresa golosa. Lo spettacolo è un contenitore di arte a tutti gli effetti ed è un inno alle mille sfaccettature che in essa sopravvivono.
